Over the next several weeks, we will be updating our Windows-based agent as well as our DNS Protection service. The DNS Protection service will be enhanced with group-based policy management and exportable CSV reports. We will be extending the flexibility of policy management with ability to apply custom policies for Groups, Sites, individual devices, and/or IP. We will retain the ability to configure DNS policies globally. We are additionally updating the console so you can initiate trials for any product from within the Global Site Manager console. DNS Agent Update Coming Soon Webroot is committed to continuously incorporating feedback into our products in order to provide the best possible experience for our customers. As such, we are pleased to announce a series of upcoming upgrades to our DNS Protection agent. Here is the rollout schedule: Monday, March 19: Select Partner Roll-out and all NEW installs Thursday, March 22nd: Full roll out to existing customers The upgrade, which will occur silently, includes several important enhancements including: Intranet and local support for roaming users on VPN Improved network detection to support roaming users' network changes Upgraded support for DNS traffic via TCP protocol in addition to UDP Again, no action is needed on your part to implement these updates. We have been working diligently to improve the Global Site Management console, and we are happy to announce we will be releasing the first of several updates on March 6, 2018. For your convenience, there will be several important navigation changes in the release: The ability to create and manage groups will be available in the Global Site Manager console under the Groups tab, which has replaced the Devices tab. The buttons to change and rename your console can be found by clicking the dropdown near the console name in the upper right corner. All documentation can now be found under the question mark icon, in addition to the option to raise a new ticket with support.         We’ll be making a series of updates to endpoints under your management starting today. No action is necessary on your part.     Mac endpoint agents will be updated over the next several weeks, beginning today. These updates lay important groundwork for future enhancements to our file-based malware detection.   The Windows agent will also be updated, beginning next week, to improve the performance of our Web Threat Shield technology on the Firefox Quantum browser. The update also accommodates the security changes Microsoft has made to its Windows operating systems. http://sw.nohold.net/Webroot/Images/wsadnsp10102017.png   New Domain Bypass functionality for DNS-P customers now available within GSM When using the agent, all valid external (A) record DNS requests will be answered by the DNS Protection servers. This becomes a problem when an answer is expected from an internal DNS server. Admins can now bypass known internal domains for specific sites/customers using the exact FQDN or using wildcards so that access to internal drives, sharepoint, etc. is not blocked for their users. 

This release will include a variety of enhancements to Webroot SecureAnywhere® Web Threat Shield, which protects users in real time as they navigate the web. Updates include: General improvements to quality and stability resulting in a better overall end user experience Support the upcoming Mozilla Firefox Quantum browser What to Expect This will be a silent update for users with newer versions of the Firefox browser. However, users with Firefox versions below v. 48 will be prompted by the browser for more information. After updating to Windows 10 Fall Creators, users may get notified that access to files and or folders was denied.  Typically, this will happen when creating, updating, moving or deleting existing files and folders.      We’ve identified the root cause and have created a patched version of WSA that is currently undergoing QA testing.   Once all testing is complete, the patched version of WSA will be made available to our customers for manual and automated installations using GSM.  We are closely monitoring the inflow of support calls and may push the patched WSA to all customers if the need arises.    The next version of WSA, due around December this year, will have the fix included and customers will receive it then as part of the normal deployment processes.   There are two workarounds that can be used until the patch version is available.   Workaround 1 – If you run agents with an unmanged policy, perform the following on each d

Today we are announcing a new release of the GSM console. The major feature in this release is support for the new Webroot Security Awareness Training (SAT) that is scheduled for release week commencing October 30th . GSM Console Update 33.0 - DNS Protection This update brings the ability to install/deploy the SecureAnywhere® DNS Protection Agent for roaming users within the GSM console. This new feature allows customers to install the DNS Protection agent via SecureAnywhere Business Endpoint Protection by simply enabling a policy flag.

We are updating Mac® agents to ensure compatibility with the new High Sierra operating system. Any customers who are updating to macOS High Sierra will be prompted by the operating system to accept the agent update. This will only occur the first time the High Sierra operating system encounters Webroot SecureAnywhere® Protection. Future updates will be silent, as will updates for users on all other macOS versions. If any of your clients use High Sierra, please notify them of this change. See the release notes here. Webroot now does a gradual rollout method for releases. As such, not everyone will receive the update at the same time. An email will be sent from productupdates@webroot.com to give notice before your endpoints are updated. Added macOS High Sierra (10.13) compatibility. Fixed Bug fixes.

We hope you’re enjoying the recent enhancements to the Global Site Manager™ (GSM) Console. We wanted to let you know we’ll be updating all remaining PC endpoints starting early next week. As a reminder, this update will introduce a streamlined code base and improve the way agents function in certain server environments, as well as the way they communicate with the Webroot SecureAnywhere® network. It will also upgrade the Web Threat Shield. End users running older versions of Firefox (v. 47 and below) will get a notification from the browser to accept the new extension when the update is installed. You can find screenshots of this experience in the Product Bulletin below for reference. These updates will be silent for all end users not specified above, and no action is necessary on your part. Mac Policy Management, Custom Block Pages, and Remote Device Management We’ve made a series of updates to endpoints under your management, and our final step in this round is to enable these exciting updates in the Global Site Management Console. Next week, we’ll be updating the Global Site Management Console to enable Mac® policy management, allow personalization for block pages displayed by the Web Threat Shield, and more granular device management via the GSM console. Based on customer feedback, we will be enabling policy management for Mac endpoints in two stages. The first step will enable configuration changes in the GSM console, while the second will update endpoints to respond to the new policies. This approach will allow administrators to make policy decisions based on available options and communicate to their customers in advance of the changes. The timing of this second step will be based on customer feedback, and we will notify you a week prior to the update.

In mid-July, we will be updating Webroot SecureAnywhere® Business Endpoint Protection agents across Windows® and Mac® platforms. No action is necessary, and the updates will be largely silent. Updates for Mac endpoints will address false positives on Time Machine backups and will include foundational work to support Mac policy controls via the console. Although policy control for Mac endpoints will not be fully enabled until later this summer, this update will align sub-menus within the agent across Windows and Mac devices. Updates for Windows endpoints will include enhancements for Web Threat Shield, as well as the Webroot SecureAnywhere agent.
