DOES WEBROOT WORK WELL WITH GOVT CAC CARD READERS AND THE CERTIFICATES?
Hi EDDIEBECKY1234

Welcome to the Community Forums.

By CAC I assume that you mean Common Access Card readers?

WSA should not interfere with the card reader. I have connected other card readers to my system and WSA has not hindered them in anyway. It is possible that if you need to install software to go with the reader then WSA may block it, at worst, or decide to monitor it, at best, given that it is likely that the components of the software may not be known/whitelisted in the Webroot Cloud...it is a matter of how common the software is as to how that will play out.

Best to give it a try and if you have issues with the reader then post back here and we can try to get that sorted out for you, and if we cannot then we can pass you on to the Webroot Support Team for more detailed help.

Thank you.
No worries, Eddie

This is a bit of a new one on us as we do not get many such enquiries and so will be very interested to hear how it goes with you and the CAC Reader.

Of course, as I said before, if you run into issues post back but if it goes OK and things work well please do come back to let us know. It is of great use to us in terms of knowing that we are providing the right information or not.

Regards, Baldrick
Our Belgian version of it called the eID reader software has some rather funky features so i'm weary to install & use such a reader on my machine
