On my iMac, Webroot has been running for nearly 100 hours and has has detected 134 threats. It is still running. Why all of a sudden ? Has it not been doing its scheduled scans for a while? Is this normal ? Has it been taken over by malware or a virus ?

Hello aleroy4,
Please stop the scan. Look at "Advanced Settings" to see if "Scan Mounted Drives" is checked. If it is please untic it, reboot and try to scan again. See if that solves the problem. Please Do Not Delete or Quarantine those threats that are showing now. Those threats are more than likely False Postives if Scan Mounted Drives is checked and you are running Time Machine. Please see This Post about Mounted Drives and Time Machine on a Mac.
HTH,
Dave.
