I put webroot to scan and it does so fast and doesnt reconise any spyware , so when i run my spyware it picks up over 100 spywares that webroot missed does this weebroot really work ??
Hi dear Voorhees13

Welcome to the Community.

well you should see what are those spywares! usually these spyware or second-opinion scanners find a lot of Browser cookies and call them Spyware! or malware which they are not real malware or spyware . they are not even active or running !

noticed that everything is active on your system , you can see that on Webroot Control Active Proccesses.

for example today i run a scan with an AntiSpyware , well i see that found 224 spyware malware ... on my system ! well i opened the Details surprised 😃 they all was just Browser Cookies ! ( + some IDM Cracks .. 🙂 )

so this not means i am infected ! my laptop is not infected ! this is just the work ways of these softwares ... !

but if you still think you are infected , submit a ticket ( Click Here ) and Webroot Tech Supports be there for you 24/7/365  ;)

Hope that helps?

Hi voorhees13,

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

Just to add to the great post from ? if I may...

Some of these are what we call PUAs.

What you are seeing and describing sounds like it may be what we on the Community refer to as a PUA. (Potentially Unwanted Application) These are very annoying at best in that they cause pop-us, redirect your browser home page, and other behavior that may slow down the computer and direct ads your way, but they are not actually doing anything bad like damaging files or stealing information. Often they are installed intentionally by you the user as browser add-ons for various tasks such as quick search tools.. but they also come with the result of added annoying pop-ups and ads. Other times they 'piggy back' with other software that you installed, or try to 'sneak' onto your system entirely.

WSA does detect and remove many PUA's, and more are being added, but WSA does not detect all of them. A simple browser add-on with PUA behavior that is easy to identify and easy to remove is not likely to be detected and removed by WSA. Those that are intentionally difficult to locate and remove are. Please see THIS LINK for more information regarding Webroot's stance on these annoying programs.

Hope this helps?
