My desktop computer will not pull up. It continues to read chipset heat sink not detected. I have had trouble for several days with the desktop going black and coming back on. What can I do if anything?

Hello Jean, welcome to the Community!
First, in case you noticed, I did indeed edit your post. I merely removed your full last name to help protect your identity.
As for the problem with the error message, I urge you to not attempt to turn the computer on again until you have had a qualified computer technician inspect it. Heatsinks are a metal part that attach to certain electronic components in order to help remove excess heat. Parts that are required to have a heatsink can actually melt without it.
Replacing it, or attempting to re-attach it should be left only to an expert. Those same parts the heatsink is supposed to protect are also extremely sensitive to static electricity: simply touching them can potentially destroy them.
