First time poster. I just got a new MacBook Air and when I click on scan I get the following message: "The scan failed. SecureAnywhere cannot reach the internet to obtain threat information." I am connected to the internet, obviously or I would be on this message board. Any advice from any Mac users?

Hey there, welcome to the Webroot Community!

I wish I was more of a Mac Guru myself, but I do know the Geek Sqaud phone number is staffed 24/7, yes - Chrismas too, so that is a good place to start!

Like I said I'm not much of a Mac Guru hopefully that GeekSquad phone number can help you or maybe another Mac user will come by and help you?

Sorry,

Daniel
that shows that the firewall is turned off so i don't think the firewall is blocking anything

WebRoot was installed by the geek squad at best buy. I do not know how to check to see if WSA is being blocked by the Mac firewall or how to unblock it if this is the problem. It is a 90 minute drive each way to best buy so i want to avoid going back if possible.
You can give them a call please see here: http://www.webroot.com/us/en/home/products/geeksquad-dl

I'm not much of a Mac guru but I'm sure they can help you and please let us know as the Webroot staff will be back tomorrow on the forums.

Thanks,

Daniel 😉

Are you sure that WSA is not being Blocked by the Mac Firewall? Also have a look at this Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7hcOGm-MzpI and the Online Helpfile: http://live.webrootanywhere.com/content/542/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-for-Mac-OS-X
