i am not new to pc's etc.
webroot missed whatever attacked my start up. could not even get to webroot to get help, spent weekend gettin pic's etc onto external drive and then formatt C and reinstall everything.
anyone else experience this?

Webroot can be started in Safe Mode and you could of ran a scan there. That doesn't help you now but it might help you in the future. It's hard to say what hit your computer. Webroot also has a roll back future that can put your computer back to the time before any infection.
