So it must be the Best Buy Subscription Service via Geek Squad if you have System Optimizer as they have it in the Plus version? http://www.webroot.com/us/en/home/products/geeksquad-dl

Hi,                          The screen shot Slimware Utilities download  was a bad websit.  I went to the official website it is ok by Webroot.  MajorGeeks and P.C World recommends this cleaner.  Problems may lie in users on computer rather the software.

Yes it's a AV only

Then you don't have System Optimizer! Only on the Complete and Gamer versions and the Best Buy Subscription Plus versions! http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C9_SystemOptimizer/CH9a_RunningSystemOptimizer.htm but when you join the Beta group you will get a Complete BETA keycode from @

Thanks,

Beta Testers test new versions of WSA before it''s released to all consumers and we look and check for bugs which is very rare. To join post in here: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Announcements-and-Release-Notes/Looking-for-Webroot-Beta-testers/td-p/175350

That is as may be but there are some very reputable online sites that have reviewed their products and rated them highly.  As I said it is a moot point point as to whether they are any worse than any other software crew in this market and also whether the negative reaction to them is justified or not.

Personally I have had no negative experiences with their software.

I actually used SlimCleaner for a number of years with no ill effects whatsoever but thereafter moved over to using CCleaner when the need arises, toegther with a couple of other good and stable cleaners.

Not sure why Slimware have such negative press as they are certainly not the worst by far when it comes to utilities that can brick ones system...believe you me I have seen some that would make your toes curl.

But the key thing when using any such applciation/utility is to make sure that you at least make a System Restore Point first and better still take an image of your hard drive/SSD.
