One of the strengths of a forum is that answers to questions don't go to one person. When a question is answered, the answer is there for all to see. The Search box at the upper right might just find your answer for you, so take a look at it if you have a question. This post will be updated with various Common Topics as a quick source of immediate information. Turning the app off Some people have expressed concern over the icon in the notification bar, or slowing down their device, or consuming battery. So let's address all three of these... Because it is a security application, it would not be very effective if it were just turned off. So we don't let it turn off. If you do not wish to see the icon in the notification bar, you can go into the app, to the main screen, and press the menu button on the device. Tap the "General Settings" menu, then uncheck the only item: Persistent status. This will remove the status icon from the notification bar and only alert you when Som

QuestionI read that when you need to use the Scream feature to find your phone in the house you need to send your phone an SMS. How do you send your phone an SMS if it's lost and you cant make an SMS? AnswerThere are a couple of ways to cause the phone to scream. The first method is to log in to your online account, select "Mobile Security," click on your phone, and select the "Lost Device Protection" tab. You will then see a button you can select to send the SCREAM command as well as the other options available to you. Another way to do this is via your cellular provider's website or another smartphone. Most cellular providers allow you to send SMS messages from your account page. To do it via SMS, text your number with "scream password" (replacing password with your Webroot password).
QuestionHow do I locate my mobile device using the locate feature? AnswerFirst, please log into your MyWebroot Account Click on Mobile Security Select the device you wish to locate Click on Lost Device Protection. Select Locate My Device If the device happens to be turned off and cannot receive the command, then it will detect the pending command next time it checks in with the console. The device is set to check for pending commands every 30 minutes. You can also locate it from another mobile device. To do so, text your number with "locate password" (replacing password with your Webroot password).

Webroot mobile used to have a security app and a browser app. I never used the browser since everything I have is synced to Vivladi. Webroor security was alwys running on my phone. Now it appears that the security and the browser have been merged into one app and my android phone is only secure when I use the Webroot Browser. Since everything I have is synced to Vivaldi, I don’t want the Webroot browser. Now this once useful app is useless. Since Webroot was gobbled up by Carbonite it has ceased to be what it once was. After over ten years when my subscription expires I will sadly being saying good bye to Webroot.

SecureWeb is now available from Google Play for free! Our stand-alone web browser had formerly been available on iOS devices for free already, and it's now available on Android as well. If you already have Webroot SecureAnywhere Complete installed on your Android, this is the same web browser you already have, so you don't need to download it again. Complete users have the extra benefit of being able to use the password manager. So if you have an Android, and you don't already have the SecureWeb browser with an existing Complete subscription, check it out, and let us know what you think!
Hi, I see Gooligan hacking problems. Are my Androids protected? s just the "scan" app also watching for Malware, etc? Not clear as to what apps I am supposed to get for my subscription. Thanks much, JQ
Question: Why am I still receiving blocked texts on my Android Device? Answer: This is an issue that occurs because of limitations applied to the Android OS after the 4.4 update. For security reasons, third party applications are no longer able to offer this functionality without creating a default messenger application specifically for their product. Question: Why does it show that it is being blocked? Answer: Because technically, we are catching it and attempting to block the sms. We are simply not able to given the limitations provided. Question: Will malicious links still be blocked? Answer: Of course! You will still receive a notification in regards to a text containing a malicious link. This happens regardless of whether or not the number is in your block list. You can locate more information about this issue here and here.
Hi, It's time to decide whether or not to renew my WebRoot mobile licenses, and I am undecided on whether or not to find an alternative. Unlike the desktop app, the mobile app has been less reliable in my one year experience with a handful of devices. What is the current state of the Apple app? Last I checked it constantly shutdown, or was shutdown by iOS to save battery power, and required a reboot of the phone to restart. Is that still the case? For anyone else on the community using WebRoot Mobile protection, what has your experience been like? Thanks, Bill
