? regarding use of protected applications

under identity shield you can specify protected applications.  however, i am not sure everything it does and so am unable to make an informed decision as to which applications should be protected.  i believe the module has antiphishing, antikeylogger abilities (and anti clip and paste etc), and validates address and makes sure it is secured (https).  but i am unsure if it operates like trusteer rapport and blocks out absolutely everything else (so no other programs on my system can access the protected program or secession).  initially, i added my email program into the protected sphere, but if like trusteer, it would kick my antivirus out so they couldn't scan the files that are downloaded.  or, for example, my browser would lose many of its security addons (like mcafee siteadvisor etc). i presume it doesn't isolate like this??  correct??  is there anything else it does that i missed?

All I have in mine is Browsers I have never tried adding Outlook to it because it's not HTTP or HTTPS. Also you can look at the online Help File. https://detail.webrootanywhere.com/agenthelp.asp?n=Managing_protected_applications And really you don't need other programs like trusteer rapport or mcafee siteadvisor as WSA has Identity Shield above and the Web Threat Shield that looks after that.

EDIT: I did add Outlook and it works fine but have no need for it to be listed in there so I removed it.

      thanks for prompt reply. however, i must have been overly ambiguous with my question. i was not asking if i should use trusteer, i've tried it in the past and don't care for it. i was asking how webroot isolates a program. i wanted to know if it does something similar to trusteer (or bitdefender safe browser) and isolates the program from my system (like a sandbox that nothing can enter). so that, for ex., my anti-virus can't enter the protected program and scan something (like a browser downloading something, or emails). i don't think it does this, from my usage, but am unsure. either way is fine, but knowledge of how it works helps with effective implementation. as such, i would remove my email from it. however, i think it works less by isolation, and more by effective hips and anti keylogging etc. even if it does fully isolate, it would not kick out the webroot antivirus leaving you potentially exposed (like trusteer does).

      WSA is a full package and will protect your online Identity from Keyloggers and many other things have a read of this page https://detail.webrootanywhere.com/agenthelp.asp?n=Managing_protected_websites and the AV is always active looking for malicious activity all the Shields work together.
