PC - Uninstallation Option Missing from Control PanelKnowledge Base

It could happen that uninstallation options for SecureAnywhere could be missing from the Control Panel or Start menu. If you want to uninstall SecureAnywhere and are unable to do so because of the options are missing, here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem: Option 1: Ensure correct display settings Open the main interface. Click Settings, then choose Basic Configuration. Un-check the boxes next to Show Webroot in the Start Menu and Show Webroot in Add/Remove Programs. Click Save All. After saving your settings, repeat steps 1 and 2, then re-check the boxes next to Show Webroot in the Start Menu and Show Webroot in Add/Remove Programs. Then click Save All again. Once you have re-checked the correct options, try uninstalling Webroot from the Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs option, or from Start > All Programs > Webroot SecureAnywhere > Tools > Uninstall Webroot. Option 2: If the method above does not work, you can run an uninstall command manuall

Can't remove WebRoot

I cannot uninstall webroot from a customer's computer using add/remove programs. I tried "C:Program Files (x86)WebrootWRSA.exe" –uninstall" and it says "are you sure you want to uninstall" and I say yes, then it says it's being managed by the central console and I have to make the changes there. BUT, the machine doesn't' show anywhere in the console. It was remove from console but it didn't remove software from the workstations.

How to uninstall SecureAnywhereKnowledge Base

This solution addresses Webroot SecureAnywhere  Windows XP Click Start. Click Run. In the Run window, type "appwiz.cpl" (without quotes), then press Enter on your keyboard. Select the Webroot SecureAnywhere line item and then click Uninstall. Click Yes. Enter the request characters and click Continue. Optional: To help webroot improve, in the pop-up select the reason for uninstalling and provide additional comments.  Return to the uninstall page and click the refresh button.  Webroot SecureAnywhere is now removed from your PC. Windows Vista/Windows 7  Click Start, or the Windows icon. In the Search field, type "appwiz.cpl" (without quotes), then press Enter on your keyboard. How do I temporarily turn off Webroot Secure Anywhere?

I've looked up instructions for temporarily disabling Webroot SecureAnywhere and it says to go to the settings and click the "allow Webroot to be disabled". When I open Webroot the only option I have is "Advanced Settings" and that does not have any option to disable or shutdown Webroot.

what is ocsp.digicert.com

I recently had a case where both of the browsers on my PC (FF and Edge) kept trying to make an outbound connection to ocsp.digicert.com. Webroot didn't flag it as a problem, but I also run Malwarebytes, which blocked it. Uninstalling/reinstalling FF didn't help. I had to restore my PC to a restore point made a week earlier to get rid of the constant outbound connection attempts.   Afterwards, I also found that Malwarebytes wouldn't scan my computer. I would start a scan and it would stop 1-2 seconds later with a "clean PC" report. I reinstalled MWB and it seems to work ok now.   Just to be on the safe side, I also reinslatted Webroot, but I'm a little disappointed that it didn't catch any problems - assuming I had a problem.   What is ocsp.digicert.com and is it something bad?

How to completely remove all entries of Webroot after Uninstallation in Windows 10

Hi everyone!   I uninstalled Webroot from my Windows 10 system through control panel with no apparent problems.  Webroot is gone from programs list but Istill have some remnants of the program. For example, in the startup tab within task manager I have following startup item: Webroot Installer.   Also if you go to SETTINGS , click System , then click Notification & Actions and then click: Select Which Icons Appear On TheTaskbar, within that list I have an entry called WRSA.exe (which I can turn on or off in the notification area in taskbar). How can I completely remove all entries of the Webroot from my system? Does anyone know a cleanup or uninstall tool to completely remove all left over entries? If not, is there a way to manually remove all leftover entries? Thank you so much for your help!

Possible handle leaks, what does this mean?

In System Analyzer I received the following message in the software section: "An active process has a possible handle leak (explorer.exe).  Does anyone know how to fix it or what it means?   I opened a chat with the Geek Squad and they basically said don't worry about it, but seems if it comes up as an error, something should be done.

I Can't Open Webroot

webroot was installed on my computer a while back. I keep getting random pop-ups from chrome so i want to run webroot to see if my system is infected. Whenever I right-click webroot or right-click to try to open it, nothing happens. Why can't I open this app to run a diagnostic test on my computer?

File named C:Program

I have a Windows XP Pro machine with WRSA running (for a couple of years), and last night at 7:51pm AST a file named "Program" was created in the root directory (i.e., C:). As such, I received the Windows File Name Warning upon reboot that "There is a file or folder on your computer called "C:Program" which could cause certain applications to not fuction correctly. Renamintg it to "C:Program1" would solve this problem. Would you like to rename it now?"   Properties of the file indicate that it is 743 KB with a description of "Webroot SecureAnywhere" and is digitally signed as "Webroot Inc." with a digital signature timestamp of "Jan 14, 2014 7:36:45 AM". A hexdump of the file shows at the top the standard "This program cannot be run in DOS mode" and at the bottom, there appears things like "Company Name - Webroot", etc.   We have had WRSA installed for a couple of years and did not do anything special yesterday. Do you know what this file is, and why it is labled as Webroot?

How do I stop Webroot WSDaemon taking 80-100% CPU on my mac?

Mac slow... activity monitor says WSDaemon is using 80-100% of CPU on idle.   Any fix for this?

Hi. How can I fix "Graphics Ram is Low" analysis from Webroot?

First off, after 4 months of using Webroot I will only be using it from now on. Absolutely love it. Even tested it by trying to download Pirate Bay torrents that I knew were infected and Webby didn't let them get through. However I have a question that I know will make me look like a "computer schmuck" but the truth is I am!   When I ran a system analaysis on Webroot yesterday it gives me a score of 99% but it started sayIn I have a hardware problem by saying, "Graphics Ram is low which is impacting performance".   I went to intel and downloaded an update for it but Webroot is still stating that. Also, my System Mehanic utility repair states everything is fine and no problems. Can someone tell me how to fix this? This is a new computer only a week old and everything about this started yesterday. Thanks and I appreciate your help! P.S. I really am not computer smart so please reply as if you were talking to a cave man. Thanks! -Bill

Subscripton Renewal Email from Geek Squad/Best Buy - Real or Scam?

Has anyone else received an email from Best Buy/Geek Squad stating that their WebRoot anti-virus software will automatically be credited? I tried to get a response from BestBuy, but their online tech named Kasey said it was a scam and that I would need to pay the full $49.99, and not the $29.99 stated in the email. I was a bit disappointed in their reply. I realize that WebRoot is not BestBuy or the Geek Squad, but WebRoot has partnered with them so hopefully someone from WebRoot or a user in the community can respond to my question and concern. Has anyone else received this type of email and did your subscription renew automatically? Thank you. PS: If someone from WebRoot would like to see the original email, I would be glad to forward to your security department.

Apple says I don't need Webroot...

Well well well. This is interesting. Having another issue due to Catalina so I called Apple. In the call I also advised them that Catalina broke Webroot. Apple says I don't need Webroot antivirus software. They say I don't need any antivirus software. They said and I quote: "Webroot is actually something that has been incompatible and not recommend to use as well as any other antivirus for multiple software updates now." "We do not recommend you use an antivirus on a Mac it actually inhibits the security on the machine." I asked: "The Mac protects me without it?" The answer: " That is correct."

How to Uninstall Webroot SecureAnywhere or Endpoint protection on windows 7 and 10

Hi Team,   I have two pc's with with me in which 1st pc is having Webroot  SecureAnywhere windows 1 and second pc is having webroot Endpoint protection windows 10, I have already uninstalled SecureAnywhere but is not able to install new one in the same pc and in the second pc i am not able to uninstall webroot Endpoint protection, i just tried to search on the internet about how to uninstall Webroot  SecureAnywhere or Endpoint protection on windows 7 and 10.
