Webroot's George Anderson was recently interviewed by IT Security Pro about Webroot's new SecureAnywhere Business Mobile Protection. Here are some highlights:
“We’re very much cloud-based,” he said, adding that this does not mean the company has committed 100 per cent of its security resources into the cloud, since you always have to have some degree of security enabled locally, for the times when an Internet connection is not available.
If someone is offline, he adds, then IT admins can set the security parameters of the mobile device very high, effectively locking down usage until such time as the device reconnects to the Internet and the cloud security platform.
In recent survey carried out by Webroot, he says, 57pc of respondents reported as that there is a significant security issue with the rise of Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) in the enterprise.
