Three Tips for Securing Your Home WiFi Networks

Your router is your gateway to the internet. Once it’s compromised, cybercriminals may be able to view your browser history, gain access to your login information, redirect your searches to malicious pages, and potentially even take over your computer to make it part of a botnet.

Android Malware Will Destroy Your Phone. No Ifs and Buts About It

A malware strain known as Loapi will damage phones if users don't remove it from their devices. Left to its own means, this modular threat will download a Monero cryptocurrency miner that will overheat and overwork the phone's components, which will make the battery bulge, deform the phone's cover, or even worse. How nasty!

The malware uses the classic trick of pestering users with an endless stream of popups until the user does what the malware wants. This is how Loapi obtains device administrator rights and how Loapi forces users to uninstall real antivirus apps from their phones.

Be careful what apps you download!

Be careful this Holiday season!

Buyers Beware of Tampered.gift Cards

A perennial scam that picks up around the holidays involves thieves who pull back and then replace the decals that obscure the card’s redemption code, allowing them to redeem or transfer the card’s balance online after the card is purchased by an unwitting customer.

Make sure to check the back protective sticker!

How to Teach Your Kids About Digital Privacy and Security

Many parents may not think to teach kids about how information is shared or how identities can be exploited online.

Even without connected toys, children regularly spend time online. Those ages 5 to 8 spend an average of one hour per day on mobile devices, according to Common Sense Media. And as technology companies direct more attention toward child users, this number is only bound to increase.
