I notice that some of Webroot's websites including Webroot Community are now showing the Google i in a circle icon which when clicked on warns that the site is not secure and that any personal date input is vulnerable to hackers. This is reported in www.nakedsecurity,sophos.com as part of Google's attempt to force all website owners to install higher security including encryption. Having read a bit about this programme I see that the next step is to display HTTPS or, if insecure to Google's desired standard, the words' Not Secure'. Almost all websites are rated as insecure with the main exceptions being Banks & similar + Governement websites. The objective appears to be, to embarrass website owners thus causing loss of business- where purchasing is likely, and thus to force increased security. I understand that this initiative was announced to begin as a roll out from January 2017. Clearly it has happened, although I have seen nothing publicised- I merely chanced upon it. I would welcome Webroot views & perhaps adoption of the uprated security. Certain of Webroot sites already carry the HTTPS rating.
