A group of hackers has devised a method to hack Pokemon Go to and reveal the exact location of characters all around you.

Pokemon Go is the game of the moment, its viral and the attention of the media is very high on the gaming novelty.

As the players know, they haven’t the precise location of nearby Pokemon because the popular game only allows players to have a radar with an imprecise location for the nice characteristics.

 

Of course, the hackers are already working to overwhelm the limitation and find the exact location of the Pokemon. A group of hackers on the PokemonGoDev subreddit has devised a method that exploiting Pokemon Go‘s server responses to draw a map that displays the position of hidden Pokemon in the player vicinity.

Yes, this is worrying as many children, and potentially some adults, will not be able to distinguish the real from the fake...and who knows for what reasons the fake Pokemons have been put where they have been? :(

They are real Pokemons (that is if they really do exist ;)) but cheating just ruins the game and they have found a way to find out the real positions of them instead of an approximation.
My whole perception of this Pokemon GO thing, and other game and mobile app etc obsessions (imho), is that I fail to understand how people cannot think of (and desire), more constructive, beneficial, and possibly educational and healthy (incl mental) persuits.

The populace seem to have abandoned any thoughts of investigating one's own imagination and creativity, and seem only capable of 'digesting' processed 'products'  They seem to be constantly determined and feel compelled (apparently) to follow the latest trend and obsession, as if they must ensure they don't feel left out.

 

It's a sad reality of the modern era imho :( 

 

and edit: Look at how the obsession with this, what is in reality A GAME is bringing various types of problems , and unfortunately it's unlikely to slow down anyytime soon :(
