Yesterday I put on my RayCon Earbuds to listen to some music on my 27 inch iMac running Catalina. When I took the earbuds out of the case I usually hear a “Connected” voice then I can use them on the Mac to listen. Well, yesterday when I took them out of the case I heard music already. Sounded like background gamer music. I couldn’t connect to the Mac. I opened Bluetooth Preferences on the Mac and “The Everyday Earbuds” was gone.No other unidentified connections showed on the preferences but was still hearing gamer music. I took the RayCon case and earbuds out of our apartment and the music stopped. Came back into our apartment and the earbuds paired up with the Mac and the music was gone and I could use them on the Mac. I’m wondering if someone in our parking lot was gaming in a car or the apartment next to us? This brings up the question, How safe is Bluetooth since my keyboard also is connected to the Mac by Bluetooth?
Here are my connections. The only difference was when the gamer music was playing “The Everyday Earbuds” was missing.

So you think someone connected to your ear buds? I’m sure it’s the same with a Mac as Windows if a device was trying to connect to your Mac/Windows it would notify you as I can try to connect to other devices if I want like My TV but in all these years I have never seen anyone try to connect to my Windows.
My Phone is connected to my Diabetes sensor and Hearing aids all the time and to my vehicle when I get in the car again no issues. But I have to connect to each device and go through the steps so nothing can connected without the connection steps I would say it’s possible someone from outside connected to your ear buds without you knowing. There meant for short distances and never really thought about security before!
I had this happen on an airplane recently. I took out my AirPods Pro and put the on my tray table to put away the case. When, a short time later, I put them in my ears, did not hear the usual bing I hear. I could also hear someone else’s TV (i think) sound. (SWA flight so someone might have been watching TV.) I also did not see the selection of my AirPodsPro on my Mac. I just assumed someone selected my AirPodsPro in error.
I just put them back in the case for about 5 minutes, and when I took them out again, I could connect.
For grins, I looked at what as visible for Bluetooth devices and could see several of devices, most of what were ear pods of some kind. Seems if you are not connected, others can attach. That seems like a problem to me, but I guess that allows you to share them between devices.

Hey @ProTruckDriver are you still hearing things that are not there?
I don’t hear it anymore. Our apartment is on the ground floor and facing the parking lot. The women that lives next door to us had her daughter and grandson visiting and they were all standing by her car. I was wondering if the grandson was playing a game on a device in front of my apartment where the car was parked. The women that lives here isn’t home now. When I see her I’ll ask about it.
