Windows 10 is perhaps the most polarising operating system Microsoft MSFT -3.92% has ever released. It’s adoption rate is both lauded for its speed but mocked for only matching Windows 7 given it is free. Similarly its user tracking is both attacked a privacy invasion and defended as a necessary evil. But there is one place where consensus exists: Microsoft’s Window 10 upgrade tactics – and now a key rule for them is changing…
Taking to its TechNet blog, Microsoft has announced it will step up the intensity of its ‘Get Windows 10’ campaign for Windows 7 and Windows 8 users. The nagware has already been heavily criticised for its persistent attempts to push consumers to upgrade (including automated downloads and reducing choices) but now business users are going to get the same treatment.
“Small businesses and organizations will soon be able to receive notifications about the upgrade and then directly upgrade to Windows 10,” explained Matt Barlow, Microsoft’s general manager of business group marketing, in the blog post.

Well that's a big push to get Windows 10 on one billion devices! And on Microsoft's terms...not good... I would of upgraded my nag ware of Windows 10 but my machine just won't do that upgrade. So that's on my terms for now ...LOLs..
Microsoft's turning into Skynet. And lucky us there's a reg fix or a GPO available to block this update nag from showing
I have to say that I can see their point about wanting people to upgrade...in terms of their business model I am sure things would be much simpler if there were no or minimal users on prior releases of Windows.
Agreed their methods, in some quarters, are perhaps heavy handed but when one is dealing with a billion plus WIndows installations worldwide it is more than likely that their plans won't suit all and sundry.
Personally, I have found Windows tend to be extraordinarily easy to move to and an excellent OS to use, and it is only getting better.
But it just goes to show that one cannot please all of the people even just some of the time. ;)
