OS update will feature IE 11, as well as upgrades to the Charms Menu and Live Tiles.

Microsoft’s forthcoming Windows Blue update was made available on file sharing sites on CEO Steve Ballmer’s 57th birthday in what has become the latest high-profile leak.

Build 9364 is thought to be an early version of the update Microsoft has been working on, but does include some of the key features that are expected to make the final release.

Screenshots of the changes have been posted on Winforum. They appear to show that Windows Blue will be pre-loaded with Internet Explorer 11 - although we are yet to see what benefits this will bring to users.

I wonder if this is making Steve Ballmer feel blue.
I still can't bring myself to use or install W8. Happy with 7 and will be sticking with it for as long as I can.  Or until W9 comes out and the GUI has changed.

but really the updates to metro are great though... some of the things they should have had in the first place... oh well.. at least they are responding and adding good things... 😉
I still don't think I can bring myself to use Win 8.
I have been using Windows 8 for a few months. There was a learning curve for the forst week or so, but I like it now.

 

A lot of people forget: There is a "desktop" tile that you can click from the startscreen which brings up a Windows 7 style desktop. There is also a change that can be made (3-rd party app?) that will go to the desktop on startup.

It continues to push ahead with our bet that the PC industry is going through a shift that is driven by mobility.
