I have to agree totally. You just need to go out and buy yourself a new mobile phone, they all have their own particular electrical adapters instead of universal ones which fits them all, the end result being that a few short years down the line we all have umpteen different adapters in a drawer taking up space.

In the Android camp, phones like Lenovo's Moto Z and Moto Z Force and China's LeEco have already scrapped the 3.5mm headphone jack; to listen to music on the company's three latest phones, users need to plug in USB Type-C headphones, go wireless, or use a dongle.

Oh, great! Another **bleep** dongle to buy, attach and detach and eventually lose.

"Who wouldn't want a dozen dongles?"

I am with you on this, Jasper...but in the question for making things smaller & smaller there will be casualties...unfortunately and the 3.5mm jack is one of them. Sad...:(
