    I actually remember paper tape...which was before punch cards.  The  first language I programmed was Elliot 803 Autocode...and the computer we did that on had 128Kb of storage and that filled a room 30 foot x 30 foot...so, yup...I do well remember punch card and the importance of punching a hole in the top corner and then stringing the whole program in card together...in case one dropped the card stack.
     
    You did that once and thereafter always strung your pack together...once bitten twice shy, eh!
