Having received an email from webroot, I took a look at my profile; to find something purportedly powered by "klout"

 

Given my facebook experience, I have to ask what exactly is it and why is it there?

 

more to the point how do I get rid of it as I seem to have activated the blessed thing.

 Managed to disconnect from it, but still not clear on its function.

 Not for me then, I don't use facrbook or twitter, and my linked in account is only used to contact a handful of people.
Yeah we were at the Lithium conference recently and asked them to remove the Klout branding as it's confusing for people who haven't heard of them. Which is most anyone who doesn't work in social media. But completely understood if it's not useful for you, which is why it's an optional feature that you have to turn on if you want it.
