As previously rumored, Microsoft will release an update for Windows 8.1 August 12 that will add a few minor features to the PC operating system, but the update won't be given a formal title like "Update 2".

 

Microsoft offered a list of three of the features that will be included in the update, which will be released during the company's monthly "Patch Tuesday" event:
