I can't tell if anti-virus protection is part of this package for my PC.  Do the daily scans include virus protection?

Very Respectfully,

Hi there,

Welcome to the community which ever version of Webroot you have will have antivirus protection. This will stop you getting viruses from the Internet even if your pc is offline. Your pc is protected by the cloud which means viruses are caught before they enter your computer.
Hi Richdz70,

IF I may add, the answer to your question  is yes, yes, yes...

Take a look at this post from one of our esteemed community members

Hi richdz70

Welcome to the Community Forums.

WSA protects you from/against the latest known and unknown threats:

  • Viruses
  • Spyware
  • Phishing Attacks

  • Identity Theft
  • Social Network Threats
  • Unsafe Websites
and if I may just clarify something for you in relation to what was said earlier in this thread; the fact that WSA is cloud based does not mean that viruses are caught before they enter ones computer.  The Cloud element is basically only about where the detection work is done, which makes WSA fast & light on system resources.

In fact, WSA only scans and deals with active malware so a piece of inactive malware may get on your computer but because it is inactive it can do no damage (for obvious reasons...it is not active)...but when it activates or tries to activate then WSA jumps in and neutralises it.

Hope that clarifies things for you?

Regards, Baldrick
