Confused regarding the status of my subscription!

I'm a little confused regarding the status of my Webroot subscription.  I originally purchased Webroot software from Best Buy about a year and a half ago.  But I had difficulty installing it on my 2 laptops and required Webroot tech assistance.  As a result, this original subscriotion was extended beyond it's original expiration date as a courtesy for the inconvience I had experienced.  When that date became imminent, I called BestBuy and spoke with their GeekSquad personnel.  They incorrectly told me that, based on their records, my subscription had already expired, leaving my laptops unprotected.  I was naturally very concerned and purchased a renewal right there and then.  Well, just yesterday, I received an email from Webroot telling me that my subscription has automatically been renewed and that I owe another $80.00.  Hence my confusion.
Can you advise me what's going on or at least direct me to the correct Customer Service people at Webroot?
