Does the Password Proection work with the Microsoft Edge browser? I seem to be having a delay in the set-up and wonderedf if this was the cause.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
The Password Manager and indeed the Web Filtering Extension will not work in Microsoft Edge. Webroot is currently awaiting that MS allow addons/extensions to be used with Edge. Please see HERE for a KB Article on the subject.
