I'm trying to save my settings in Webroot Internet Security Plus and I keep getting the message, "The operation failed with error code 1168"

Anybody know how I get around this?
Hi ?,

Welcome to the Webroot Community.

I too have gotten this error code when adjusting settings in WSA.

An uninstall/ clean install should take care of this issue for you. It usually only takes a few minutes to do.

Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Edit: The following instructions only apply if you have the "Complete" version of WSA, use Backup & Sync, and are re-installing.

If you have folders that are "Backed Up" or Synced" to the cloud you will need to re-enter those using the "Link to an existing cloud folder" option located in the "Folders" tab under your "Backup & Sync" settings (click gear next to Backup & Sync in WSA interface)

Please let us know if that resolves your issue? :)

Thanks,

bd
There is no Back Up & Sync in the Plus version only the Complete version! Also check your Online Console to make sure it's set to user Configuration under Security setting. http://live.webrootanywhere.com/content/669/Viewing-PC-status

Daniel ;)

Thank you Daniel,

I just realised that this was posted in Internet Security Plus. After receiving this same error code a clean install took care of it for me.

?, Please disregard the Backup & Sync info in my previous post. If you're still having issues after trying ?'s suggestion then please try the clean install as that has worked in resolving that error code isssue for me.

Thanks, and sorry for the confusion.
