Does secure anywhere protect against exploits?
Page 1 / 1
Hello hrsweet3, welcome to the Community!
Very good question! I hope my answer is as good.
And the answer is.... well... yes and no. (I know.. .not a good start LOL) The following would apply to ALL AV/Malware solutions, not just WSA.
The YES part:
In the event an exploit is used to transfer malware onto your computer, WSA would detect and protect against the malware as it is dowloaded or as soon as it is activated. All of the various shields would protect you in this scenario just as they would from any other malware introduction method.
The NO part:
In exploit situations, the exploit is actually just taking advantage of a software 'hole' in Windows or another program. While as noted WSA would protect you against any malware introduced via the exploit, it will not fix the exploit. The only way to fix an open hole in a program is to have the program vendor issue a patch to close the hole used by the exploit. In the event of an exploit that would, for instance, allow a hacker to be able to access communications sent via SSL (As we have recently seen), WSA would not be able to do anything about this.
I hope this helps, but please do let us know if you have any questions.
@ I can use a second opinion here, as i think you are able to answer this better than I can. Thanks!

You got it right Buddy! 😉 Also look for something to come in the near future to deal with Exploit's!

Thank you Daniel and Dermot! I do appreciate the backup!
Thanks, guys. BTW, I've also added Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit Premium and Fooli**bleep** CryptoPrevent to my defenses! I wonder if others have done the same.
Unneeded IMO as WSA will detect any Malware Dropper that may slip through a Exploitable program. I never seen one in all this time just don't be a happy clicker and don't click on links in emails that you don't know who it's from. It's nice to keep the system nice and light! All the work is done here not on your PC: http://www.brightcloud.com/platform/webroot-intelligence-network.php@ wrote:
