Can I block websites with from use on my Webroot?
Hello rdjensen

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

The WSA Firewall is designed to work with the Windows Firewall.  WSA generally monitors outgoing data, while Windows monitors incoming.  To block a specific URL, that would currently be done through the Windows Firewall.

Please have a look at the PC User Guide http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C4_Firewall/CH4a_ManagingFirewall.htm

and http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C4_Firewall/CH4c_ManagingActiveConnections.htm

Hope this helps?
Hi rdjensen

Welcome to the Community Foums.

If I may just add to what Sherry has posted...are you looking to block access to the web by specific programs or are you looking to block specific sites, i.e., URLs?

If the latter then I am afraid that WSA does not include that functionality; it will warn and block (but that can be overridden) if it detects that one is attempting to access a site that is known or considered to have the potential to be dangerous, i.e., from phishing, malware downloads, etc., but not BLOCK per se.

If you are looking for functionality to do that you will either have to user the built in Windows Hosts file or install a parental control application to ahieve what younare looking to do.

Hope that helps?

Regards, Baldrick
