Where I have set passwords that will be activited when I sign into Webroot it works part of the time but other times the password rremains active after I have logged out of the internet, i.e. logged out of Webroot. In some cases I have had to removed the interface to Webroot but the orginal passwrod has still remained so I have created a new one but not tied into the Webroot program. However when I go to that site the origial password is still there which I have to remove and enter my new one before I can enter the program site. Three sites have been affected by this problem but so far I have only taken one out of the Webroot password program. The two remaining sites are really critical and I probably should disable the Webroot password program for these two.

It's possible that the browser is auto-filling them in. Every time you fill in a password on most modern browsers it offers to remember them for you, and you might have accidentally clicked yes to the prompt. The problem with the browser password storage is that is isn't necessarily secure. If you go into the browser settings you should be able to delete those.
Thanks. I am aware that a browser may ask to save passwords but I have never done that even accidentally. In one case where the password was always active even when not logged into Webroot the password suddenly was taken out so that even when I signed into Webroot the password was not inserted in the program and Webroot started asking if I wanted to have WR save it. But other passwords have remained. I not just ignore the problem and learn to live with it. I might add that in one case I did not want the password to be a constant so I removed it (or so I thought) and created a new one to put in manually. I had removed the 'constant' password from WR password manager but when I go to the program site the log in still shows 'astericks' for the old password which I delete and enter the new correct password.
I do not want to fight it anymore. So, as I said, I will just live with it.

Do you have any other browser extensions or password managers that could be auto-filling? What browser are you using? I'd suggest turning off all extensions temporarily to see if you can isolate it.
I use Windows 7 IE (11). I will try your suggestion.
