I know I can do it from the endpoint using "Refresh configuration", but can I use an agent command to achieve the same thing?

If so, what is it?

Thanks
Not really - the console waits for the client to check in, so until the client does so the console doesn't talk to it.  You can set the refresh interval to shorter though, through the policy.  The lowest interval is 15 minutes, so you don't have to wait long if you send a command to the client.
In terms of forcing the latest agent, you can just grab the latest MSI and deploy a re-install over the top of the existing clients, if they're not on the most recent version.
As of 3/7/2016, I received the following information to force an update to the latest version from your dashboard to an individual machine or multiple machines under your Group Management Tab.

Click on the box next to the Hostname for the machines you want to update > Agent Commands > Advanced > Download and Execute a File.  Use the following URL in the pop-up box:

http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsasme.exe

You can also use the URL above to download the installer locally on the endpoint, then run it manually.
Did that work for you?
Yes.
Does the dashboard give you a confirmation on whether the upgrade was successful or not ? Or you just want until the agent checks in and the pie chart updates telling you the number of end points and versions ?
Does it keep using the existing policy is was using or fall back to the default policy set on the consol?

The computer should keep all prior settings, basically you are just running an installer over top of it.

Is this method still valid?

Click on the box next to the Hostname for the machines you want to update > Agent Commands > Advanced > Download and Execute a File.  Use the following URL in the pop-up box:

http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsasme.exe
That is indeed still the process, @.

Thanks @!

Do you know if there is a feature request already to turn that into an agent command??  The url is handy, but I'm a lazy admin, I just want to right click and say update agent.  ;)

Thanks,

Jesse
I totally get it, @. I would want to do the exact same thing if I were in your shoes :manwink:

I haven't found any Feature Request with that in mind, so you're more than welcome to submit one yourself!
For anyone who comes across this thread, this is still the correct procedure as of 10/2/2017:

Pick your host -> Agent Commands -> Advanced -> Download and run a file -> Paste this URL:

http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsasme.exe

Also - I submitted a feature request for an upgrade agent entry on the agent commands menu.  Go vote for it here:

Thanks so much for that, @!

I've given it the first kudos 🙂 Here's to many more!
I have tried this on several devices and they still won't update.
This still works for me:

Agent Commands

Advanced

Downlaod and run a file

In the URL field paste this in:  http://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsasme.exe

Hit the "Download and Execute" button.

What is your Poll Interval?  If it is set at a high value like "Daily", it could take a long time or potentially lapse.  If you have a decent internet connection, there's no reason to not have your poll interval set to 15 minutes.  That will give you a better interval for running commands - especially if you're doing some clean-up.  I've got 24 sites - all running at 15 minute poll intervals - no issues.
Also - there's a feature request to give this a little more automation - just a nice to have:

It was our external firewall blocking it. Allowed below sites and it's now working.

*.webrootcloudav.com

*.p4.webrootcloudav.com

*.s3.amazonaws.com

WSAWebFilteringPortal.elasticbeanstalk.com

*.webroot.com
Ha!  Pesky firewalls!  Glad it's working!
That's fine for Windows PCs
