New Badges for your Country

We've added a new badge type that will show what country you live in.  This allows you to show off your country pride as well as help others know where you are from.  This allows us to know what time zone you are in and what your primary language is and thus allows community members to better help you.  To get the badge for your country, just go to your profile page and select your country from that drop-down list:

To start with we've created badges for the following countries.  If your country doesn't yet have a badge, just let me know and I'll get that one created.  That way we can prioritize which country badges we create by demand, rather than just doing them in alphabetical order:

  • Australia
  • Canada
  • France
  • Germany
  • Japan
  • Ireland
  • Austria
  • United Kingdom
  • Belgium

India
Italy
Mexico
South Africa
Sweden
Turkey
Netherlands
Russia
Philippines

I'm adding them in the order of popularity of country traffic from Google Analytics. As always, if anyone has a special request for their country, just let me know and I can add them sooner.

Also, I can now remove badges, so if you accidentally added another country badge and need it removed, just shoot me a PM.

Sorry for the delay. The Scotland, Bermuda and Greece flags are now live. For the Scotland flag you'll have to message me to get it manually added since it isn't in the country drop-down list.

Thanks for the suggestions. I put in the badge requests and I'll let you know when those are live. In the meantime make sure to put in the appropriate country on your profile and when the badge is created you'll get it straight away.

I didn't update the original post, but the badge does exist. I took the liberty of adjusting your country on your profile to Iran and it does now show up, so it is working!

Ok I have the Germany and Australia flags fixed, and since we had the Belgium flag anyway I went ahead and added that one for the correct country. Please let me know if you see any more errors that need fixing!
