This post is my worst nightmare (https://community.webroot.com/t5/Webroot-SecureAnywhere-Antivirus/dnsapi-dll-False-Alarm/td-p/231374)

I got a computer in today, has Webroot on it and webroot detected an error with dnsapi.dll file. Apparently this is a false/positive because of a windows update? Not sure what the story is but the point is, there is no internet connection now. Can't uninstall webroot, SFC /scannow doesn't fix it, I've tried to restore from quarantine which doesn't work. This is not one of my customers, I believe he has the home version, but what happens if this happens to a remote user? What happens to the EU when there is no internet, I have to go onsite? have them bring it in? This scares me when I think about how many people I have under my account and if something goes wrong like no internet because of a false/positive i'm screwed.

What type of fail-safe do we have if something goes wrong in this scenario with a managed client? Oh, and is anyone having this issue with Managed clients?

Thanks,

Gabe
Sorry about that - we had several people affected by this. It sounds like you've tried the normal methods to fix this. Can I have support follow up with you to figure out what is going on?
Yes please.
Ok I put in a ticket on your behalf. You should get a confirmation email shortly and then support should be in touch.
