How do I change the key on managed endpoint when it doesn't respond from the web interface.

The renewal wasn't applied to the old key so it has now expired. The purchase has generated a new key and I can't get the endpoints to move to it.
The endpoints are not accepting requests, or polling and if I try to open it from the desktop it says it is "managed". If I click on Refresh, I get a message saying it is web based so I don't have to do that anymore.
Looks like I'm stuck.
