Hi,

for instances where I need to change some Webroot deployed configuration, I discovered how to deploy new config instantly, without having to wait for policy changes to apply automatically.

For example, I need to change HOSTS file on client, but policy does not allow.

So I create new policy on central management console, apply this policy to desired endpoint clients...

...then I go to client computer (for example, remotelly via TeamViewer) and try to change HOSTS file. No go, because new policy did not apply yet.

So THE TRICK is on client to go on Webroot cleint to Account tab and click "Check for updates". It says I cannot update, because my install is centrally managed....but this procedure also updates client policy instantly from central console and I can change HOSTS file without a problem now.

Hope this comes handy for somebody 🙂
Thanks for posting that - one other trick that support tells me often works is to send the policy change and then immediately send a scan command to that same client. That scan command will push through the policy change that is in front of it in the queue.
Excellent trick, thanx for sharing!
