On many of the computers I install Webroot on, smtp.ocx comes up as an infector. Is this a false positive. From what I can tell this appears to have something to do with Windows

Not sure on that one. Best bet it to contact support and they can look at your logs to investigate:

You can also take the MD5 from the alert, go to virustotal.com and paste it into a search to see if any hits come up there with other AV vendors.

Thanks for the link to virustotal. That appears to be a good resource. However, in this case the analysis listed was rather inconclusive. I'm still not sure about it.
