I keep getting first scan not complete. Scan view only showing time e;apsed and no files scanned. Just recently renewed subscription, but problem is pre-renewal. MacBook Air.

Welcome to the community! I’m sorry to hear you’re having trouble getting this first scan finished. The first step would be to either:
1) Uninstall and reinstall Webroot, trying to run that initial scan again
