WSA holding onto volumes from DMG or USB when trying to eject.

Anyone else see this issue and hopefully have a work around:When I mount a DMG disk image, or plug in a USB drive to my MacBookPro, I cannot eject it because I am told one or more  programs may be using it. This even happens if NO programs are shown as running. I have noted that if I quit WSA (shut it down) I can then eject these drives  But WSA scanning the drives  it seems leaves some process open that still has an active pin to the drives.  I do not want to force eject an HD, or even a DMG as it can damage the image or drive. Suggestions anyone? (FYI: Webroot Customer Service suggested I shut down WSA, eject the drive, and then turn it back on. WORST SOLUTION EVER.)

This interface STILL makes no sense to me.

I think I have borough this up before, but again, I am at a loss to exactly what to push or tap to see WHAT the program has found. So as a UI designer, once again I will complain that this is an AWFUL interface. If I am warned about a potential threat, I should not have to guess or search for the first thing someone will want to do: See the threats.   I am going to assume “Remove Threats” will do just that, remove what IT thinks are threats. But frankly, Webroot has removed things it thought were threats hat actually broke the system and were not threats. So I need to see a list first. OK, so I actually found a way to see the list. You click on the TINY GREEN words that says, “31 items”. That takes me to Quarantine and from there I can see a tab called threats. Very round about. But several problems here: One, “31 items” is in green. Usually the color that nothing is wrong. Two, it is not obvious that one can click on the words “31 items”. They are not underlined like a link might be,

cleaning malware in backup

MacOS BigSur no longer supported... Need help finding a solution to my current lack of protection.

I’m using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with Big Sur OS….. I updated the secure anywhere app recently and as a result my Mac is no longer compatible with SecureAnyWhere App.. Can it be reverted to the previous version that sill worked on my system? Aside from the Anti-Virus capabilities, there were several other very helpful/useful functions to help maintain my Mac… Why would it tell me to update my App when the Update would make the product I Paid for completely unusable? Anybody know of any possible options for me to maintain some level of Virus Protection on this computer? The computer still runs like new its a shame Apple has stopped OS Support for it…. Guess I’ll have to switch to a Linux build to avoid more inevitable compatibility issues…

MacOS Webroot nonstop warnings

Every time I turn on Mac 14.6.1, I receive 1-5 virus warnings. It is always from files in the /LaunchAgents folder. There are aboutMy other AVs, MalwareBytes, BitDefender do not find any viruses. I have seen 15 different files inside of that folder be flagged by Webroot. I don't want to turn on my Mac everyday and receive 1-5 warnings.

Carbonite Keeps Asking for Full Disk Access

I am running Carbonite  Safe CE 22.3 on a MacBook Pro M1 Max, running macOS Monterey Version 12.4 (21F79). About once a week, I am asked to grant it Full Disk Access permission. Except that it already has it. I see that Webroot Secure Anywhere went through this about two years ago in other threads. But I do not see a solution. Any ideas? Just to prove the point, here is a screen shot:

MacBook Pro shuts down all the time

My MacBook Pro (macOS Catalina vers 10.15.7) shuts down on it’s own all the time, everytime it goes to sleep, all windows and apps in use close out and I have to sign in all over again, start from scratch with whatever I was doing, everytime.  I have not been able to find a root cause.I have Webroot secureanywhere CE24.2. System Analyzer says I have a low amount of physical RAM (less than 4GB), and says updating Hardware May improve performance. But I do not know how to do that.It also says I have a high amount of RAM used by processes (processes using more than 250 MB), and large number of temporary files (more than 200 MB).Looking for some help with a solution. I have read that reinstalling MacOS might help, but I'm not sure how to do that, and also concerned about losing files if I do reinstall MacOS. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Mac - Initial Scan Never Completes

There’s a previous post from 5 months ago on this topic. I just recently bought Webroot for our small company, and I’m in the process of rolling it out to my Mac users, I have run into the same issue with Dropbox and the initial scan that the previous post talks about.We have nearly 900 GB in our Dropbox! I tried signing out of Dropbox on my Macbook that I use for testing, to see if the initial Webroot scan would thus quickly skip or ignore files that aren’t stored locally. But the scan just attempts to open a Dropbox file (online only), and it waits several seconds to see if it will download before moving on. From the previous post, I was hoping that enough time has gone by that an update to Webroot for Mac might have resolved this. It doesn’t appear so.

Initial Scan Never Completes

Installed Webroot Secure Anywhere on my MacBook Pro M1 running Ventura, and the initial scan has run for hours and never completes. It appears that it is scanning every file in my OneDrive, most of which are cloud-based.This makes Webroot useless for me, and I’m going to have to remove it and go with another alternative.Truly sad, as Webroot used to be a decent product.

How to scan External HDD with Webroot on Mac OS ventura ?

Greetings to everyone,Thank you for any kind of help in  advance. I have External SSD Hard Drive that i am trying to scan. I share document with my SSD hard drive and I am trying to scan with my webroot on Mac OS ventura. From advance setting > scan setting> Scan Option > selected scan mount Drive but still It does not Scan my External SSD . How can I scan External SSD with webroot on Mac OS Ventura?Please Someone Help me out !!!!!!

3 year old threat reported with v9.5.8.209 and then crash

Hi,Has anyone seen something like this? Looks like a bug with the latest version on MacOS to me.My Webroot reported what appears to be an old threat this morning (Dwell time1870 days+) on my Macbook for a file that no longer exists. I tried to open Webroot Secure Anywhere on my Mac (agent v9.5.8.209) , but it was not responding, though Activity Monitor showed it was running.One of my clients has a similar issue, a very old threat (Dwell time 1078 Days+) endpoint (agent v9.5.8.209) has been offline/unavailable from early this morning.I have uninstalled Webroot Secure Anywhere, restarted and reinstalled from a newly download copy. I keep getting a notification: "Turn On Your McAfee"

I’m running MacOS 13.4. I keep getting a notification that says “Turn On Your McAfee”. It shows up once every 2 or so minutes. I’m guessing that it’s some sort of Malware. I never used McAfee. And I haven’t clicked on this notification. I examined System Settings / Notifications. McAfee is not on the list. What do I do to get rid of this?

Can I scan a single file with WebRoot on a Macintosh? Or is this feature gone?

According to Webroot docs (which look quite old: https://docs.webroot.com/us/en/home/wsa_mac_userguide/Content/ScanningForMalware/ScanningSpecificFilesAndFolders.htm#:~:text=To%20scan%20a%20specific%20file,displays%2C%20select%20Scan%20With%20Webroot  I can right or ctrl-click a file and select Scan With Webroot. However, on my M2 Mac running latest Ventura, this feature does not seem to be available?  I have searched all over for how I might turn this back on  or enable it without success.Does anyone know if this is this still possible, or has this feature disappeared on new Macs and newer MacOS versions?

Webroot Not Scanning After Installed

I am trying to install Webroot antivirus on a MacThe installation does not seem to be completing.even though the Icon is in the Application folder but it is not launching.during installation i did not see the window that has Scan button.it does show up in the activity monitor but seems like not doing anything..MAC OSX 10.14.6I uninstalled in Safe mode a few times and reinstalled it.Need Help.

Has anybody seen this pop up?  I think its phishing, I have run a webroot scan multiple times and it tells me my machine is clear.  How can I get rid of this thing?  It keeps popping up!

A badly indicated False Positive?

So the latest run of Webroot Secure Anywhere flagged a file that I believe is incorrect? According to several website, this one included (https://tidbits.com/2022/09/02/macoss-new-xprotect-now-regularly-scans-for-malware/) say that this is a “new”  (around November of 2022)  built in malware protector in MacOS. Seems to me that this should not be flagged as malware?  It flagged it as “MacOS.Lazarus.1.r”So my question is this: Is this file corrupted with a virus and should be replaced, or is this an error of Webroot? And if it should be replaced, anyone have an idea at how that can be done?Thanks

Webroot scan says computer clean but have suspicious activity popup.

Webroot says computer is clean and protected but I’m gettng a popup that says “Suspicious activity detected>System Folder Modified:  /Library/LaunchAgents/com.adobe.ARMDCHelper.cc24aef4a1b90ed___725c38014c95072f92651fb65e1b9c8 etc. I thought webroot would identify suspicious activity and clean it - not sure how to deal with suspicious activity.

Disabled ID Shield For Client: Now WR Says Unprotected

We have a few new clients using Adobe CS and were advised to disable ID Shield in our policy to enable this to work.The problem is it now shows Webroot in a “Protection Disabled” state and prompts the user to enable ID Shield, which they cannot do because policies are centrally managed. I found a 5 year old thread on this with some promises by Webroot to address, but seems to me the issue is the same as it was in 2017.Is there any update on this? Thanks!

Webroot Not Scanning

Hello, I just renewed my membership and it seems that it will not scan my MacBook Pro. I go to a college that uses examplify and am wondering if anyone knows if that software has ruined my scanning on my webroot security. I have not had this issue until my school had changed to this test taking software. It always wants me ti disable my virus protection and I always say no. So I am wondering if the examplify software has messed it up without my permisson. I also would like to know how to fix this porblem with my webroot so it will scan. I go into the app/ file whatever you would like to call it to go ahead and run a scan on my computer, everythin works normally until i click scan my computer and it will run for about 3 seconds and then say scan cancelled. What can i do to fix this.

Multiple scans running at the same time - MacOS Monterey 12.0 (21A344)

When I wake my machine up, or it is has been running for some time, if I click on the WebRoot SecureAnywhere menu bar at the top, I see multiple scans running. It looks something like the image below, and all scans are updating, rather slowly however. The problem here is that WSA is now using a lot of the  processing power and  a large quantity of memory running all these scans. It is slowing other things badly.It seems to me that if a scan is in progress, then maybe you should not start a new one?  Running MacOS 12.0 (21A344) on a MacBookPro 14-inc 2021 Apple M1 Max, 32 GB memoryIs there a way to stop this behavior other than constantly stopping scans in progress, which means they never finish, so I do not see the results.  Thanks

MacOS Big Sur Public Beta

After installing the MacOS Big Sur Public Beta ok, I restarted and went back to Catalina, until I had some free time to do some beta testing.The  first “Webroot Secure Anywhere” scan reported it had found a threat it called MacOS.Lazarus.l.r, at the following location./Volumes/MacBigSirBeta — Data/Library/Apple/System/Library/CoreServices/MRT.app/Contents/MacOS/MRTIs this malware or a virus, or has the virus security S/W picked it up in error?I know there is a development too called Lazarus, and that the MRT app is Apple’s  Malware Removal Tool, but wasn’t sure why Webroot flagged it as a threat.

scan with external c drive with a san disc in it

i was attempting to back up my computer thru time machine ( have an apple mac) and i was running the backup while webroot scanned my computer it thought that my san disc with files on it was a threat why is that
