I’m using a MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) with Big Sur OS….. I updated the secure anywhere app recently and as a result my Mac is no longer compatible with SecureAnyWhere App.. Can it be reverted to the previous version that sill worked on my system? Aside from the Anti-Virus capabilities, there were several other very helpful/useful functions to help maintain my Mac… Why would it tell me to update my App when the Update would make the product I Paid for completely unusable? Anybody know of any possible options for me to maintain some level of Virus Protection on this computer? The computer still runs like new its a shame Apple has stopped OS Support for it…. Guess I’ll have to switch to a Linux build to avoid more inevitable compatibility issues…

According to the System Requirements:

 Device operating system end of support – Webroot will support Windows and Mac operating systems according to the criteria below. If you use an unsupported operating system, you may still be protected by Webroot, but you will not receive Webroot feature updates and the risk of malware infection will increase.

  • Windows – current and previous two versions
  • macOS* – current and previous two versions

You can try this older installer: https://anywhere.webrootcloudav.com/zerol/wsamac.dmg if it doesn’t work you can contact Webroot and ask them if they still have a version that works with Big Sur like @ProTruckDriver said they only support newer OS’s but I assume they can give you an older version also it might be lacking in some security as it hasn’t been updated like the current version’s of WSA.

Might have to look into this too as have clients with hardware that cant go above Big sur


Catching up, been off line for 2 weeks.

Big Sur support end will be a disappointment to a number of clients with older Macs. But given what feels like a lack of updates and support for Mac products in general, it is not surprising to see support for older products also be dropped. I’m guessing the number of Mac users is a small group at best. 

Just hard to tell a client who has a machine with plenty of life left that they are no longer protected is difficult at best. . 

Patiently (not really) waiting in the Mac leper colony for some new Mac betas and updates. 😝

Hope you enjoyed your vacation. I have plenty of life left in my Mac running Catalina I believe. I can only update to Monterey but with the fusion drive I heard reports that upgrading would slow the Mac down. So I know the feeling of no longer protected. I’ll run this Mac until either the Mac or I take the dirt nap! 😮 Hopefully the Mac goes first. LOL


Yea, I still have plenty of older Macs performing functions here. Many are isolated to the LAN just to keep them a bit safer given the lack of a solution for old Macs. 
 

And I get this issue of a slow down, especially with older drives and the amount of swapping that takes place in the system these days. I never had the pleasure of using a Fusion Drive, so not sure how that hinders speed, 

As for OLD Macs, I still have (really for fun) a working Mac SE, and a working PowerBook 170. It’s fun to turn them on once in a while. The saddest thing is the MacSE boots faster than all of my modern Macs. 😕

I have an older Macbook Air that the Webroot agent upgraded to a new agent version, then wouldn’t work after that saying Big Sur is no longer supported. Hence this link they provided me.

Had to perform an uninstall/re-install with this installer to get back to business.

For Big Sur systems, the link John posted should work just fine, but note that there are different installers depending on whether you are using the Business or Home/Home Office version of SecureAnywhere.
