Hi,

I am a Webroot newbie, just getting up to speed with password management on Android.

I just wanted to confirm whether I am missing something, because from what I can see the usability set-up for Android seems very poor.

I took out WebrootSecureAnywhere-Internet Security Plus for 5 devices/3 Yrs for anti-virus cover PC/Mac/Android Mobile/iOS mobile devices and to have frictionless Password Management across these devices.

To date I have installed WSA on the PC (Huawei Matebook) and an Andriod Mobile (Xiaomi Mi 😎. The Anti-Virus set-up on both looks great. On the PC the Password Management looks ok (after I turned off Google PWM). On Andoid the Password Management looks quite poor.

Everything I have read states that on Android the SecureWeb browser must be used. However I use many retailer apps - its significantly more convenient than browsing and I am able to organise them into the folders as I wish. I cannot do this with the SecureWeb browser - I have to open the browser, logon to the PM and dig into the Vault to get to a list of managed sites :(

Under the SecureWeb browser there doesn't appear to be any mechanism for copying passwords to enable sign-in on retailer apps - there's no way I will remember 20 character generated password or manually type it across (because it means switching mobile screens or going back to  the PC web console).

Please let me know how I can conveniently manage retailer apps un/pw and what I am missing.

Please don't tell me logon to the Vault is the only option ...... please!

Thanks,

Cooltone

Hello Cooltone,

I'm not using the mobile apps on my phone since it is flip phone. :S LOL

I'll ping our experts that use these apps and they should get back to you shortly.

Hello Cooltone

Welcome to the Webroot Community,

I am sorry to tell you that to use Password Manager for a Mobile is to use SecureWeb in which you then sign into the vault. You will need to make sure that you have your Passwords set up by signing into the Online Account Console and set up your Passwords and Websites there. Then your Passwords will sinc  to the Vault. That is the only way that I know of.

Hi Sherry,

Thanks for the fast reply. This is not the answer I was hoping for.

The Vault is not practically useable on an Andriod phone - one gateway app for all internet apps is not a realistic solution. In turn this makes cross-device password management on Webroot practically unrealistic.

I didn't expect this when I took out the subscription and I am disappointed.

Hello Cooltone,

I wholeheartedly agree with you. Password Manager is limited to SecureWeb on an Android. I've had Webroot since 2013 on 5 devices and to be quite honest I have not been a fan of the Vault or and how Password Manager is set up. :(

You can if you wanted to you could put in a Request in the Ideas Exchange, located here:

https://community.webroot.com/t5/Ideas-Exchange/idb-p/Ideas Then the Developers can check it out with the Kudos that are given. I for one would kudo your idea.

If you are unhappy with your purchase you can Contact Support: https://www.webrootanywhere.com/servicewelcome.asp

Or  you can request a refund if you have recently purchased Webroot.

Sorry that I could not help you out more.

Kindest regards,
Many thanks Sherry.

I will drop a line to the developers.

Best,

Cooltone
You are certainly most welcome! 😉
Just wanted to say thanks to you and the developers. The new relationship with LastPass looks great. I have only just started using is, but it seems to do exactly what I asked for in this thread. PW management appears to be seamless across web and mobileapps, great!

Cheers,

Cooltone
