I'm sorry. I just purchased a Kindle Fire 9th Generation and trying to get the FREE Webroot SecureAnywhere App. The problem is that it isn't listed in the app section after a search - only the $15 one is listed although I see "2 results" after the search under Apps & Games but just the $15 appears.. I read as many articles about this in the community and would please like some easy to follow guidance for a dummy like me. Thanks,
Hello
I see what you mean from amazon.com https://www.amazon.com/Webroot-Security-Premier/dp/B00852DOGW/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=Webroot+app&qid=1593828290&sr=8-1
You can always contact support and ask them what to do if the above doesn’t work. Webroot Customer Service
Note: When submitting a Support Ticket, Please wait for a response from Support. Putting in another Support Ticket on this problem before Support responses will put your first Support Ticket at the end of the queue and support can take up to 48 hours to reply or a little longer because of COVID-19.
Thanks,
I’m sorry, It didn’t work - On Kindle it said - No active device. I’ll contact customer support. It would have been easier to have the Amazon FREE App appear like before a few years ago. Keep it simple! Why doesnt the FREE App appear on Kindle??
I’ll contact support and submit a ticket. I’ve spend quite a bit of my valuable time on this and if customer support unable to help will no longer try.
No - I’m not able to download from Google Play on my kindle. My email address for Webroot is no Google.com. You have to have a Google account. I’m unable to get to customer support. Can you help submit a ticket for me? I keep getting asked about Cookies, accepting, and going in a loop.
Why doesn’t the FREE APP appear on Amazon Kindle Apps and Games. This use to be qucik and easy!!
Here is some Idea’s and you would need to make a Gmail email address: SecureAnywhere Mobile Security for Android and Kindle Fire: https://answers.webroot.com/Webroot/ukp.aspx?pid=12&app=vw&vw=1&login=1&json=1&solutionid=903
HTH,
I’ve been informed by the support team that the “accept cookies” button is just a banner notification and doesn’t affect the submitting process. Can you please walk me through this “loop” you’ve mentioned in more detail?
I’m sorry….The only way I’m downloading Webroot Security Anywhere on my new Kindle is if it is on Amazon App Store . I see it on Google as a Free App however I do not want to create a GMail account just to download it. This should be simple and easy like before as a Kindle Amazon App. Some of the advice is old and not applicable.
I’ll do without it for now. Let me know if and when it is on Amazon. I see the $15 Premium Secure Anywhere App is on Amazon for easy download.
Thank you and have a nice day.
Hmm, okay I’m understanding your issue a bit better now. I’ll have to reach out to some sales and product people to see what the difference is between our app on amazon vs google play store. Let me get back to you on this.
Can you describe the problem you were having regarding sending a support ticket in? I want to make sure there’s nothing wrong with that web form.
It was too difficult to locate how to submit a ticket so I reached out to the community instead.
When you have time take a look at the reviews for Webroot Secure Anywhere App for $14.99 on Amazon.
I’m sorry….The reason I mention these issues is because I would like you to fix it or make it better.
Please keep it simple. Thanks

WoW!
Surely that is wrong, it should not be like that surely.
I chatted with Amazon help and they they are unable to help and say it most likely isn’t compatible with my Kindle that is brand new and 10.5” with HD. I’m done working on this. I’ll search Apps every month or so and it the Free Kindle Webroot or SecureWeb Brower, etc. appears I’ll download. Otherwise will do without it. At least it is on my computer and the main reason I’ve been using it for the past 15 years. Thanks an have a nice day.

Not compatible with device if downloaded.
Test it! https://www.amazon.com/s?rh=n%3A2350149011%2Cp_4%3AWebroot
Type in SecureWeb Browser in Kindle App. = nothing.
Good luck.
This app needs permission to access:
- Access the list of accounts in the Accounts Service
- Initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call being placed
I’m following up with a few colleagues about this. Seems like this may be an issue on the Amazon side. I think they may have de-listed a product without us realizing it. I don’t have all of the details so I’m gonna continue researching and try to get some answers.
Hey everyone,
I just had a meeting with the guy who manages all of our Mobile Products and he is preparing a statement that will be released here/on it’s own thread early next week - most likely by Monday.
To give you a brief heads-up, this has to do with our upcoming release of the new Webroot Security Mobile product that is currently in Beta. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
-Keenan
Thanks for following up. I hope it is a simple fix. When you fix it and add one word to the App Search “WEBROOT” to get the FREE APP you’ll have thousands of downloads and NEW CUSTOMERS.
Webroot Secure Anywhere Mobile App is still on my prior Kindle 8”. I just scanned the Kindle and no Threats.
The most effective way to solve a complex problem is to break it down into successively simpler subproblems. • You start by breaking the whole task down into simpler parts. • Some of those tasks may themselves need subdivision. • This process is called stepwise refinement or decomposition.
Good luck and let me know if there is anything I Can Do to help. Thanks!
Thank you
I have confirmed our product team is aware of the Amazon App store change and have reached out to the product manager for additional comment where needed. The change you have inquired about was due to Amazon store requirements and changes that resulted in removal of the application to ensure store requirements are not violated. Below is a comment provided by product (who I anticipate will also reply here if needed)
“We are in the process of bringing to market a new mobile security application. Recently we ran a beta sharing for the version 6.0.1 and development has been ongoing for some time to advance that process for our the next public release. In the coming months there will likely be some changes to our Amazon offerings, Google Play Store offerings and Apple Store offerings that align more closely with the active version 6.x efforts. Due to the upcoming product release, we are also going through a product review process where we will make decisions on what to trim or update as warranted. Our current products on the Amazon store, Webroot Mobile Security and the SecureWeb Browser, are likely to be removed when we launch our new application. A substitute for Amazon is under consideration following public release in Apple Store and Google Play. Version 6.x will serve as our foundation for any new work being presented to amazon and will replace both of these apps moving forward with a complete redesign, fresh new look, and improved functionality for each marketplace it touches.” – Nicholas Duran, Product Manager
I hope this communication clears up some of the confusion around what’s been going on within the Mobile app development team at Webroot. Moving forward, we will do our best to pre-emptively communicate product changes like this with more intention and clarity. If anyone has any general questions regarding this upcoming change, please comment below and I will do my best to answer.
@baitnhooklure Double thanks for your dedication and sharing.
