I saw on a forum (sorry did not mark it) that someone got a message that Snap DB might contain a backdoor trojan. I doubt this, based on discussion in donationcoding.com forum The author Jody Holmes of Skywire Empire and users seem all above board. Any opinions?

Hello greynat1927
Welcome to the Webroot Community
I believe that if this program had a backdoor trojan then Webroot AV would stop it in it's tracks. So far I haven't found any information on whether this is a threat.

Hi greynat1927
Welcome to the Community Forums.
From what I can see/have found in relation to this is that Snap DB is well regarded and as such should be quite safe...as long as it is downloaded from the author's website or 3rd party sites recommended by the author...the danger of a backdoor trojan is most like one due to the bundling of PUAs/PUPs that osme disreputable 3rd party download sites are known to indulge in.

Thank you Baldrick, that's what I was hoping to hear. Yes, I downloaded from the author's website.
Hi greynat1927
No worries...always glad to help.
But if you have any concerns you can always (i) scan the download with WSA...just as a precaution or (ii) submit the downloaded file for analysis vai this Webroot site which will return the details of a check carried out centrally in the Webroot Cloud.
