Disaster trying to sign in

I’ve never had so much trouble and had to waste more time than now. I’ve been a customer forever. I know that when I signed up for Webroot they weren’t owned by Carbonite. Since Carbonite bought them I’ve had nothing but problems signing in. I used to sign in through a Webroot portal. If I find it now it is by random chance.My login would not work. I tried to go to forgot password and reset it, but got sent to another completely different portal. I gave my email and got options to reset password or security code. I got a password reset email and got sent to log in here community.opentextcybersecurity.com, yet another url i had never seen before.The email said for Webroot Community and came from community@webroot.com. OK, I want to get to where I can open a support ticket. That’s not here. So where do I go now to log in for webroot support, not the community? Now when I go to Webroot.com it says Webroot by OpenText. From there I click on My Account, select Home and get sent to another

Time of Scheduled Scan

The Webroot I have installed on my computer is scheduled to do a scan at four in the morning but for some odd reason it doesn’t do a scan until 4:49. It’s been like this for awhile. I am curious as to why it does this and if it happens to anyone else.

When I play PCH games the Webroot filtering Extension interferes. I'm looking to add this site as a safe site. This way it won't interfere. Does anyone know how to add sites as safe sites?

This API which is used to connect GSPro (golf sim software) with SkyTrak (simulator) gets flagged as a Win32.Localinfect.2 category. Many folks have said that they use it without issue. Is there a reason WR does this?Thanks.

webroot doesnt shutdown

I checked that webroot got an update yesterday, i installed it.Then i rebooted my computer but most of times i need to shut down webroot and restart it because it slow downs my browser if i dont after a reboot. But now it wont shutdown, i put my password and captcha and nothing.It wont turn off.Am using win11 x64

Have had Webroot for years. Recently "TrustworthyIt's Safe to Go Ahead" preamble is showing up on my browser searches with Firefox 127.0.1. It's preceding every search result and makes my reading of the search results harder and more confusing; the green check mark has always been, and is now, more than sufficient to show safe sites.Please tell me how to get rid of the "TrustworthyIt's Safe to Go Ahead" preamble.Thank You

Seeing a lot more "suspicious activity reports" on a client's machine.

I have a client running on a MacBookPro 15-inch 2018, running MacOS Ventura 13.6.3. They are running WSA Latest version 9.5.12.227:1704. The scan shows no issues, but there are constant Suspicious Activity reports popping up. For example: This file is a system owned file, marked RW for System, and read only for everyone else, so only system should not be able to change it. Yet it generates warnings like this one: This is not the only 1, there are others. Same warnings, different programs updating. This has just started showing up in the last week or so. Here is another: Anyone have an idea why these warnings are showing up all of a sudden? Even as a Mac expert, I am stumped on this one because I do not know the internals of WSA. Help please.

Hi, I wonder if I can get some help.We have server that has Webroot installed. It’s reported a threat like this via email:An endpoint has recently encountered a threat:Site Name: xxxxHostname: WEBGroup Name: Default GroupPolicy Name: xxx DNS EnabledKeycode: ~Snip~ PTDThreat List:1717874811.139868.DLL, W32.Trojan.Gen, %temp%\, I’m now trying to find out more about the threat so I look in endpoint protection, Save Threat Log and get a “There are no entries in the threat log”. I also run a full scan and nothing comes back.Am I looking in the wrong place to learn more about this threat.I’ve rebuilt this server once before, it’s just a simple web server with only 1 admin accessing. I don’t want to rebuilt it again and there’s not actually a problem.Any pointers in the right direction would be gratefully received.ThanksCarl

Billing Information & Renewal Confusion

I spent hours trying to get back into my account (maybe I’m just tired). There are dozens of login pages, consoles, etc., and none of these pages with Account Settings will display any billing information. I need help finding a way to update my billing information. I’ve used Webroot for a long time and do not remember updating my billing information. They would have a card on file, but I’ve had many cards replaced over the years. I don’t know how it would be possible for there to be a current running subscription if Webroot tried to charge a method that was declined. Does anyone have any information about this?

I have been getting emails with 2 rows of Chinese characters. They are listed under lots of different subjects so I don’y know what they are until I see it. Webroot is causing Visual Studio 2022 Maui build to fail?

Windows 11, Visual Studio 2022, Create .Net Maui project, build and run successfully. Change something, build again, and get error, something about a mapped file open (cannot access). Disable WebRoot, can then build successfully. When you build the project and select windows as the platform, the project is actually installed as an app on your system, and I think that this is the problem, in that when changing and rebuilding the project, Webroot detects that the file is somehow in use and won’t allow you to do this? I looked in Webroot, and did not see any of the project files listed under blocked. So, it appears that when I do Maui development on Windows 11, I will have to turn Webroot off.

Hi,I installed Game Maker (https://gamemaker.io/en). During the installation, a Webroot threat window came up blocking the file zip2exe.exe.Apparently, it’s a file required to compile games made in Game Maker as standalone executables.Any help with resolving this is appreciated.Thanks.

Webroot is messing with my Delphi applications

I have a windows 10 PC, that I use to develop some own applications in Delphi 12.Since about a month ago, Webroot started causing problems with the EXEs that I build using Delphi 12. When linker tries to create an EXE, Webroot blocks access to this file, if it existed before. Thie means that everytime I want to create a new build of an existing application, I first need to either delete the old EXE, or to shut down Webroot to be able to create a new version of this EXE.Old versions of Webroot had the ability to exclude directories. That was useful in my case.Also, Webroot started to interfere about a month ago, I never had this trouble before, and I am using Webroot since 2015.I am seriously considering swotching to another antivirus software, if this problem can’t be resolved.Also, I tried to open a support ticket, but whenever I input my email address and click “Continue”, it just takes me to my Webroot console.I could say, that I am slowly getting really pi**ed off.Can somebody ple

What Modules Differ Between Home and Business Editions?

Hello, I’m wondering how big the protection gap or module difference is between Webroot Home and Business Products. In particular I read a lot of announcements around the Evasion Shield (AMSI and Script) scanner and the Foreign Code Shields (suspicious execution patterns) announced back in 2020 and 2021 respectively. Reading through release notes looks like an Anti-Ransomware module is getting pretty close to release as well in 2024 but all 3 of these seem to be for the Business products only.Does the Home Editions contain (or will contain) these additional shields soon?Script Shield has toggle but I assume that is for an older script scanning technology that doesn’t have the more advanced hooks into AMSI like the newer Evasion Shield or am I wrong? Is there a plan to add the more capable Evasion Shield at some point even if disabled to start to avoid false positives? Foreign Code Shield - is this also a Business only Shield? I don’t see any mentions or toggles for something similar in

Current subscriber but Unable to Connect to Service

I have been trying to print out pdf files to my printer but have been unable to do that. I thought that it may have been a driver and spoke with a tech yesterday at HP that went on to my computer and said that I have corrupt files and he mentioned something about a worm. He also started telling me about prices for security for 2- 4 -8 years and lifetime and I didn't feel comfortable hearing that and stopped anything further. He did ask if I had any Malware devices and I said Webroot. I tried to go on as I used this about a few days ago and got the page that said Unable to Connect to Service. Please help !!

How to stop Webroot deleting my block/allow file paths

I have tried telling Webroot to ignore a DLL through “PC Security > Block/Allow Files”. However, a few minutes after adding this path, if I navigate to another Webroot tab and then back, the pattern gets removed. I know that the path is saved, because I can restart Webroot and the path is still there; moreover, Webroot is not removing all file patterns, only the one that I added, and only after a few minutes. Is anyone familiar with this issue and/or aware of a fix?On a side note, I am only adding this path because the DLL is being regenerated by a Unity project, and Webroot seems to flag that as malicious and prevent Unity opening it. This issue has only started occurring in the last week or two, and is being experienced by numerous other Unity users. Quitting Webroot fixes Unity, so I’m pretty confident that this is a Webroot issue, not a Unity issue.On another side note, the inability of Webroot Home edition to allow folder paths, not just file paths, is pretty laughable. Cannot Uninstall Webroot - Please Help

My dad has Webroot on his PC, but he decided he no longer wanted it. He uninstalled it, but continued to get popups about the software.He has also tried:Removing the software from his registry files based on instructions from a forum post Removing other traces of the software manually from his computer Getting help from Geeksquad who tried helping for 3+ hours to no avail This morning, not only is Webroot not yet gone, it ran a scan on his computer.Could someone point me to a thorough uninstallation guide to remove every trace of the program?
