Seem to an issue with updateing or downloading new program or apps for programs i already run even though my pc firewall allows these webroot does not. either I can't figure it out how to allow these programs throuh webroots firewall setting or there is no way to make adjustment to allow them through. other Anti-virus programs I've run have a setting for the firewall in them to select programs that are allowed through. But I can find none on the updated version i have. That had this setting before to download or update programs I must close the anti virus to down load ortherwise i get a programing error or message stateing problem with connection.

Dose this program have a working way of telling it what to allow - it seems to have no user setting in the firewall to allow certain programs through.
Hello and Welcome to the Webroot Community!

Can you tell us what OS you are using I assume Windows 8.1 or Windows 10? And the reason why and notice what JoeJ has to say: https://community.webroot.com/t5/Ideas-Exchange/Outbound-connections-fw-control-in-Win-8-Win-8-1/idi-p/60003 WSA only blocks unknown malicious processes from calling out to the control center but you should get a Pop-up? The first thing I would suggest is do a clean reinstall and if it continues after then Submit a Support Ticket and they will sort it out for you. Here is more info on Windows Firewall and WSA's Firewall: http://www.webroot.com/En_US/SecureAnywhere/PC/WSA_PC_Help.htm#C4_Firewall/CH4a_ManagingFirewall.htm

Please follow the steps closely!

  • Make sure you have a copy of your 20 Character Alphanumeric Keycode! Example: SA69-AAAA-A783-DE78-XXXX
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings if asked to as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
Please let us know if that resolves your issue?

Thanks,

Daniel ;)
