Hello,
About a week or so ago Firefox 47 stopped letting me go to some sites that I normally go to. One, Fantasy Flight Games, I couldn't go to at all. The other, a local game store site, would let me go to the site but would not let me log in. In both cases, the error message I got was this:
Secure Connection Failed
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.
Learn more…
I clicked on the "Learn More" link but it told me nothing useful. I contacted Firefox and they had me check out a lot of things--and I checked out all of them (there was way too many things to list here because this message would end up being a really long one). We couldn't find out why this was happening.
The same thing has happened in Edge; Chrome, IE, and Opera. I cannot go to those sites with these browsers either.
I've contacted the web sites, themselves, but haven't heard back from them yet..
I wanted to ask you about this in case there's something in Webroot that I can check. I did do a full scan for viruses/ malware but everything was clear. I'm not sure what else to check (if anything).
TIA,
kk

Hi koolking
Welcome to the Community Forums.
There is a quick way to check if WSA is causing the issue and that is to temporarily shut down protection (right click on the WSA notification icon & select 'Shutdown protection' from the context menu displayed...then enter the CAPTCHA characters requested, etc.).
The try access the Internet by the way that was previously blocked? Can you connect or is it still a problem?
Eitherway, post back to let us know how you get on...and don't forget to restart WSA by clicking on the Desktop icon.
