I bought Webroot antivirus through Amazon, downloaded it and entered the product key from my Amazon receipt. The software works, but every time I run it, it reminds me I need to register. I've tried to do this about 6 times, filling out the form with my password, security question, etc. But when I reply to the email verifying my registration, I can't log in and get a UCR2 error every single time. I can't reset my password either, since the software thinks it knows better than I do where my mother was born. It gives me a bogus UPA003 error relating to the answer being case-sensitive. So I can't register and I can't setup my administrative console.
How do I start back on square one? I need the Webroot site to forget everything it knows about me so I can start this tedious, labyrinthine process all over again.

Welcome to the Community Forums.
We often have issues with purchase from the likes of Amazon & ebay (in the former case when the software is not purchase Amazon themselves but from a 3rd party via Amazon).
Given what you say and what you are describing you have tried I am wondering as to whether you have a legitimate purchase...but the best thing to do in this case is for you to Open a Support Ticket and let the Support Team take look...as I suspect that the issue is rooted somewhere in the back office systems and that is something that we volunteers here do not have access to.
If you do get in touch with them and they resolve the issue for you then please do come back and let us know what transpired as it is useful for us in terms of trying to help others in relation to this issue or a similar one in the future.

If it was an illegitimate copy, I wouldn't think I could have successfully activated it with the key I got from Amazon. I opened a support ticket and they sent me a canned response telling me to register. Well, I did that many times on day one. My registration must have been accepted, or I never would have gotten the email message to complete my registration. So I am basically half registered. I have activated two copies on different PCs and they both seem to work fine. But I can't open an administrator account, and I keep getting nagged about registering.

I think that in the circumstances if you are not happy with where you are at then you should contact Support again and see if they can regularise the situation for you. Are the two copies that you have for the same or different versions, and are they for 1 device each or more than one?

I used the same product key that Amazon sent me for my 5 computer Internet Security Complete purchase. Both copies seem to work fine, except for the registration and administrative console not being complete. Both are Complete 8.0.8.53.
