Hello birdleg, welcome to the Community!
The one thing I am pretty sure of is that it will not be WSA causing this... but I could be wrong 🙂 That being said, and while the Community here is obviously mainly for resolving issues with WSA software, we still are happy to try our best to help out on other issues.
This is actually a VERY hard question, as the possibilities are really quite endless. Still, there are a few basic questions I have for you that might help us get an idea.
How long have you had the computer and how long has this issue been happening?
Did you install ANY new hardware or software, including Windows updates or any other software update, just before the problem began?
What version of WIndows is on the computer?
There have been a number of Windows Updates relesed over the last two weeks, did you manually install them or allow WIndows to do so automatically?
I think that will do to start with.... 🙂

Is there any pattern to when this happens? When was the last time you ran a scan?
This has been happening since I have installed Webroot. No downloads. Computer is 4 years old. Thanks.
If you suspect that Webroot is causing the problem, then you can uninstall it and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then we can help you troubleshoot further. If it doesn't go away then you've ruled out Webroot as the problem and can re-install it and continue to look for the culprit. You might want to check the Windows Event Log to see if there's any pertinent information there.
That is not at all common after installing WSA, but it CAN happen. (Remember I said I could be wrong... Looks like I was!)
So.. lets try a clean install of WSA. Please do the following and see if it will help!
After you have done this, please let me know if it helped!

- Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
- KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
- Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
- Uninstall WSA and Reboot
- Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
- Let it finish it's install scan
- Reboot once again
After you have done this, please let me know if it helped!
