I can't get rid of this malware without spending more money!
Hello  Bob9545, welcome to the Webroot Community!

Is the error about your hard drive giving you any specifics about what the problem detected is or any suggestions about what steps you may want to take?

The problem is that I am not aware of any specific malware/virus that displays this message.  The only time malware would cause this message is simply if the drive were being filled with garbage data causing a lack of drive space available but you would noramally see a message advising that specifically.

While you might consider a Trouble Ticket to have Webroot Support take a look and verify that there is no malware present, unfortunatly my own opinion is that it is more likely there is an impending failure of the hard drive.  I would rather suggest that you run Windows Error Checking on that drive, as well as see how much free space is there as well.
You need to run the chkdsk in "fix mode". Right click, open command prompt as administrator and type this in.

chkdsc c: /f

You can try to download the diagnostic program from the HD manuf. If it is Western Digital, you can find the diagnostic program here.If it is a seagate HD you can find Seatools here. If you think it is a virus or spyware I suggest (edited) following up with a trouble ticket as suggested above.
