Yahlover worm is around ten years old, so I highly doubt you are actually infected with it. My first thought when reading your post was that it was probably a tech support scam, and a quick seach showed reports of the yahlover worm name being used in tech support scam popups.

What happened was I tried to open a page, and a screen came on asking me to call a phone number to correct the problem. I became suspicious of this and went to close the page and couldn't, i could not exit the internet, so i shut my pc down and restarted, went back on the internet and got the same problem, I shut my pc down then started it again, seemed to work, but dumped my history, cookies everything seemed ok, ran webroot no problems noted, guess some sort of scam, who knows. any way when all this began it stated the following.

Anyway i guess everything works good.

I would suggest that to try to guard against this sort of thing, based on what Dan has said about popups, that you consider installing a good ad blocking extension in your browser(s).
