Cant get internet to open says limited access

Hi dieseldog74

Welcome to the Community Forums.

I have heard of instances of this happying but they are rare.  In this case the first thing to do is to try an uninstall, check if the problem still exists, and then a clean reinstall. You do this as follows:

  • Make sure you have a copy of your Keycode
  • KEEP the computer online for Uninstall and Reinstall to make sure it works correctly
  • Download a Copy Here (Best Buy Subscription PC users click HERE)
  • Uninstall WSA and Reboot
  • Now check you internet access, and not how it is working
  • Install with the new installer, enter your Keycode and don't import any settings as you can set it up as you like once it's done
  • Let it finish it's install scan
  • Reboot once again
  • And again check your internet access.

If you access is fine when WSA is unistalled, and not after the reinstall then you may need to contact Support for assistance.

If your subscription is dirctly through Webroot, you will need to contact Webroot Support.  You can do so by submitting a Support Ticket if you have not already done so, or by phone during business hours.  (The online Ticketing system is manned 24/7)

If your subscription is through Best Buy Subscription Software services, you may need to call them at 1-800-GEEK-SQUAD.

Please let us know how you get on.

Thanks Baldrick, i did buy it though webroot. every year i renew somrthing goes haywire. Shall i talk to support first or go ahead and uninstall and try again. I tried just shutting webroot off but didnt do any good.

Hi dieseldog

You are welcome.  I think that you have nothing to lose by uninstalling, seeing if the issue persists, clean installing and then seeing if the issue is still around...that way, if it is you can advise Support that you have already tried that to no effect and that may save you a conversation with them about doing that.

Keep us posted on the uninstall/reinstall and what follows.

Regards, Baldrick
