Somebody on Facebook made a loose threat that my anti-virus could be breached and things could be put on my computer.
He has also made suggestions that he has viewed my computer already.
How worried should I be about this? The person is a compulsive liar so I don't believe anything he types. He is also dumber than a fence post, so I don't think he could get by my anti-virus, but he would stoop to paying someone to.
How easy would it be for him to?

Hello yooerfitter, welcome to the Community!
Well, as long as you have done the following, it would most likely be almost impossible for him to do so:
I think you are quite safe, but of course if you have any questions, any problems, or see anything at all which makes you think you MIGHT be compromised, let us know!
We have a lot of good volunteers here on the Community ready and happy to help, and if we can't help Webroot Support can.
Well, as long as you have done the following, it would most likely be almost impossible for him to do so:
- Keep you WSA up to date (Which by defualt it does anyway)
- Keep your Windows Updates current
- Make sure BOTH Windows Firewall and WSA Firewall are enabled (Which by default they are)
- Do not click on any links he sends to you open any files he sends through any medium (Email, Facebook, any other way of sharing files)

In the very unlikely event that he has managed to discover your IP address:
- If you use WiFi at your location, please make sure not leave it in an open public access state where anyone can log in. Enable security and set a strong password for connecting to it.
- Do not keep the login and password for the router itself at the fatory defaults... change them, also with a strong password.
If your router has NOT been secured, you after getting it secured you can also call your ISP and request a change of IP address :)
OK, that is better, but hopefully others will give some input as well 🙂
Thanks David.
That's pretty much what I was thinking too.

As I said above, we really enjoy helping out, and if we are at all unsure of an answer, or do not know, we WILL tell you and try to find someone who can help, including Support. (Which is also free with your WSA license.)
So come back any time you have a question, or just hang around with us any time. There is a lot to learn just by reading the posts, and we also like to just do a little chit chat and have some fun too.
Thanks again David.
He might be able to find my house, but my router is secure with a fairly strong password. I can beef it up, it has been the same for a while now.
The router has always had a password.
Thanks again for your help.

The only thing I would add to David's excellent advice would be to totally ignore that person, as he obviously doesn't have good intentions, and probably tries to get some sort of 'kick' out of scaring people.
Dermont7, my wife has been telling me the same thing.
I probably should, but I would rather not be bullied around by him.
He starts the arguing, is too stupid to keep up and has been making the threats lately.
If I figured there were anything to worry about, I would ignore him, but now I can still point out his lies and the fact that he just isn't very smart.
Thank you for the advice and I will keep it in mind in the future.
